In the fall of 2009, NCES launched the High School Longitudinal Study of 2009, which follows a cohort of more than 25,000 9th graders in the base year through their high school, postsecondary, and early career experiences, focusing on college decision-making and on math learning based on a new algebra assessment. Data are collected from students, administrators, math and science teachers, school counselors, parents, and administrative records.
